About the Artist
KT is an accomplished Seattle-based artist and founder of Velvet Nugget Studios. She began her career as a metals specialist and glass/metal lighting designer in Milwaukee, where she began forging steel, and her studies at Seattle’s Pilchuck Glass School ignited her love of glass. Her work explores themes of adornment, creating jewels and jewelry-like objects that interrogate our perceptions of
preciousness, value, and status.
About the Business
Sisters Yuki and Miki Sodos grew up in New Mexico in a mixed heritage family amongst a largely Latinx community – and they’ve always felt most at home in melting-pot environments. Their restaurant and bar Bang Bang Kitchen brings New Mexico-inspired cuisine to Seattle, reflecting the diversity of the sisters’ background and also of the Othello community that has welcomed them.
